Obama Wins Ohio

I know I just said I wouldn't post as much, but.... this is huge.

Obama has finally flipped a big "red" state -- MSNBC has given Ohio to Obama. Coupled with his win in Pennsylvania, he has taken another major step to victory.

Also, Louisiana to McCain.

Right now it looks like you're poll will be correct when this is all said and done. Obama looks like he'll win big.

Beth-oh-Nay said...

It looks like Obama is pretty destined for the win having 200 electoral votes to McCain's 85 Obama just needs 70 more. Let's hope that republican's loose graciously and don't harrass Obama these next few years.

It also looks like the house and senate are going to be democratic also. So he may not need to worry as much because of that change if it happens.

It does look like the online poll and the vote in my classes today both mirror the results tonight.

Obama needs just 70 more -- and California (55), Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii should all go for him. Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina could all very well go for Obama as well.

did all of you're classes choose Obama to win today Mr.Crane?

I know our class had Obama winning 25-5 or something.

Were all the classes pretty much the same?

Mr. Crane said...

Jameson, two of my other classes were similar to yours with a huge Obama edge. My Period 8 class was closer, 13-8 for Obama with some undecideds. My Sociology class was 12-6 with some undecideds.

Bryan16 said...

How many of those people voted the same as their parents?

Grantformcain said...

Obama is not the right person for this country.

Mr. Crane said...

Bryan -- I haven't analyzed that yet, although I may have a chance during WKCE testing tomorrow to work on that. I'll announce the results once I have them!

Grantformcain said...

I believe that we'll just have to wait till the election because the news is very liberal and they dont report accurate all the time

Bryan16 said...

Ok, I was just wondering because a lot of kids seem to not really know the issues and just support whoever their parents support

Grantformcain said...

We'll if you talking about me thats not the truth, yes my parents voted for mcain but just becaues my parents vote for him dont mean i like him. i like his views and i dont believe that obama has enough experiance to run this country, if he wins we are dombed

Mr. Crane said...

Grant, you may be right, we'll find out over the next four years. One thing we are pretty sure about, though, is this: President Bush was not viewed as being the right person for the country -- his approval rating is about 30%. Since McCain is in the same party and has voted along with Bush's wishes much of the time, American voters probably see McCain as Bush 2.0.

It's probably not completely fair, because McCain HAS worked with Democrats and opposed the president on various issues. However, McCain chose to focus on his "Republican-ness" instead of his "Independent-ness" in order to get Republicans excited about him and get them to the polls today. In my opinion, this was a mistake.

You have to win over moderates and independents to win the presidency. Obama moved to the center and grabbed these swing voters. McCain moved to the right and conceded these voters.

Bryan16 said...

I wasn't talking about you, i was just talking about kids in general. Also, if kids hear one thing that they like in a commercial, they tend to like that candidate

Bryan16 said...

I also think that Obama doesn't have enough experience to run the country, but at this point it's looking like he's going to win.

Grantformcain said...

Yes, that is very true but he may have voted just like bush but that doesnt' mean that he's going to run the country just like him, i dont like some of the things he does i believe in conservitism. One thing i wish wasn't an issue in this race is the "race" card that some obama people play.but there was a very good special on pbs about both canidates and they are both very smart and have done good things

Grantformcain said...

By the way who is bryan16?

Bryan16 said...

I agree, but many of Obama's beleifs are way too extreme.

And if you don't mind me asking, who are u (grantformacain)

Mr. Crane said...

Bryan, of course that's true. I didn't even become that interested in learning about the issues and where I stood on them until I got to college.

In 1988, I wore a pin for a presidential candidate because the prettiest Troyette in school asked me to wear it. I would not have supported that candidate today.

Grantformcain said...

This is grant p. And mister crane you were letting girls influence you to much.. HEhe

Bryan16 said...

I agree with Grant

Anonymous said...

Mr. Crane...you were a crazy teenager just like most of us boys are today.

Mr. Crane said...

Grant, I agree that both candidates are good ones. I thought that even going back to the primaries when Americans were selecting which candidates would be the ones representing the parties, that there were several people from both parties who would be excellent presidents.

Grantformcain said...

Hasn't Obama had planes to be assaisnated a couple times?

Bryan16 said...

I think so to, almost all (not Hilary) would've been great presidential candidates

Bryan16 said...

Grant, yeah there have been plans to assasinate obama, but they were broken up before anything happened and nobody knew how serious they actually were

Bryan16 said...

McCain just won Nebraska

Grantformcain said...

bryan are you bryan russert?
and mr.crane do you think sociolgy would be a good class for me and zach?

Bryan16 said...

no im Bryan Ryder not Russert

Grantformcain said...

Oh hey big dawg. its grant parsons

Bryan16 said...

Mr. Crane, how come the time is wrong on this thing

Bryan16 said...

hey, yeah thats what i figured when u said grant p

Anonymous said...

Wow, I can't believe that Indiana still isn't for one or the other. I can't wait to see what candidate it will be, it'll be interesting. And hi Bryan.

Grantformcain said...

OMG ANYONE WATCHING THE NORTH CAROLINA RACE, 10,00O VOTES SEPERATED THEM

Anonymous said...

oprahs on abc

Bryan16 said...

Hey jame47 who are u

Anonymous said...

Jameson. And yeah, Grant, that is a very tight race, that's gonna be close when that's over

Bryan16 said...

All of my predictions are correct so far.

Anonymous said...

obama is prolly going to take califoria when it closes at... i think 10, and then mcCain will have to take alot of other states to catch up

Anonymous said...

This is Brandi B.
I've been watching the Election like crazy, and I am amazed that McCain has the ammount of electoral and popular votes he has.

Anonymous said...

I think Obama has this in the bag considering he's supposed to get California.

Anonymous said...

we will see in like a half an hour.... looks like the senate is democrats too.... BRANDI IT'S JESSE!!

Anonymous said...

The House is also Democrats. It looks like the next 4 years are going to be very democratic. Very good if you're a democrat.

Mr. Crane said...

I left my November Madness predictions at school, but I think North Dakota is the only one I've gotten wrong so far.

Anonymous said...

It does look like the Senate is majority Democratic, too. I wonder how that's going to work for Obama. Just because the President and the senate are the same party doesn't mean things run smoothly...
I think Obama's pretty much the new President. California's most likely going for him, and that'll almost definitely secure his seat in the white house.
And, lol. Hi Jesse.

Anonymous said...

i'm so happy we have a short day tomorrow!!! i can stay up later and sleep in

Anonymous said...

look at the district of columbia obama is winning 92% to 8%

Anonymous said...

Wow, that's not a blowout at all.

Anonymous said...

Obama wins in VA, OH, PA, IA, WI, NM, MN, MI, NY, RI, MA, NH, MD, CT, NJ, DE, VT, DC, ME, IL

McCain wins MS, TX, UT, LA, GA, SC, AR, AL, OK, TN, WV, KY, ND, KS, WY, 3/5 in NE

Mr. Crane said...

Think about me when you're rolling out of bed at 9:00. I will have been at school for a couple of hours. ;-)

Only three minutes until the polls close in the western states.

Also, Indiana, Virginia, and North Carolina are all going to end up being extremely close, but looking at which counties still have votes to report, Obama may take all three.

Anonymous said...

Those are the exciting one's to watch

Anonymous said...

Electoral:

Obama: 297
McCain: 135

According to CNN.

OBAMA WINS. First African American to be president.

Grantformcain said...

OUR COUNTRY IS DUMDED

Grantformcain said...

we are all dead

Anonymous said...

Wow you're positive Grant.

Blame it on the Redskins for losing, that's why a Democrat got put into office.

The theory of the Redskins is true again.

Washington Redskins lose their game before the election...a change of party occurs.

They win and the same party still holds office.

Anonymous said...

And they lost last night.

Anonymous said...

Grant, my best friend agrees with you.

Mr. Crane said...

And which team was the only one to beat the Redskins in the final game before the election and NOT cause a change of parties in the White House?

The Packers, in 2004.

Hmmm.... maybe John Kerry actually WON the election in 2004....

Good one Mr. Crane
